1951Mr. Wai Man Lai established Wai Kee Co. Mr. Lai was a well-known suit tailor in Hong Kong. In year 1951, he changed his profession to curtain making and established the first curtain store at 13 Stanley Street, Central, Hong Kong.1961Wai Kee Co. relocated two times due to the redevelopment in Central District. In 1968, Wai Kee Co. moved to Queen's building, G/F., 21 Stanley Street.1976Wai Kee Co. expanded, the flagship store relocated to Woo On Lane just beside the famous area Lan Kwai Fong.A branch store was opened in 1980 on Caine Road, Central.1986The branch store was taken over by Mr. Lai's eldest son, Mr. Kam Hung Lai and his wife Ms. Shirley Yeung. A new branch was established this same year at 42 Stanley Street and renamed Wai Kee Curtain & Furnishing Co.1991Relocated to 28 Lyndhurst Terrace, mainly targeting upscale customers and the large number of expatriates moving into Hong Kong. Later in the same year, Wai Kee Curtain & Furnishing moved to a new showroom with a larger floor area at 34 Cochrane Street.1995Mr. and Mrs. Lai, anticipating rapid growth in the business, in 1995, they opened a new 3 story showroom at 105 Wellington Street. Wai Kee Curtain & Furnishing Co. started partnering with several interior designers and participated in the production of window coverings for hotels and service apartments in Hong Kong.2010Today, Wai Kee Curtain & Furnishing Co. renamed Wai Kee • HOME, is carrying on the traditions of the past with a new look and fresh ideas. It is now being administered by Mr. Lai's wife, Ms. Shirley Yeung and their son Mr. Bennett Lai, and business partner Mr. Erwin Chan....
